We have been very fortunate in that we have found many "experts," throughout the country, who honestly are true and caring professionals and we would be happy to refer to them on a case by case basis only. Our list here is small, simply because most experts do not want their names published on anyone's website. A word of caution. Be very careful who you talk with and accept advice or assistance from. There are many individuals who profess to be experts in defending false allegations of child sexual abuse, but as with any profession, you will find good and bad. Some "experts" convince a potential client that they must act immediately or spend their life in prison. Without really even knowing or understanding what the client's case is all about, these "experts" immediately subject the accused to high cost testing and experts, whose opinions would never be allowed in a court of law. In the long run, they accomplish nothing and are gone quickly when the money runs out. The shame is, many of these so called "experts" we have met throughout the country were much more interested in getting their own names in the spotlight rather than assisting someone who was facing a serious false allegation charge. Anyone criminally charged with a false allegation of child sexual abuse, must be prepared to defend that allegation all the way through trial and, normally, they are on a budget. My advice is, before spending money on anything that may be unnecessary, discuss your case thoroughly, develop a strategy for the overall defense, determine what finances are available and assure that you have adequate funds to carry you through trial. In short, have a justification for each and every dollar spent, regardless of how it is spent. Regarding any expert, please do not ask us to make negative comments about anyone, individually. While others may attempt to "trash" competition in order to gain business, we will not. A few of the experts that we have had experience with and know to be caring, experienced and qualified professionals are as follows:
Boston, MA attorney who specializes in false allegations of abuse and father's rights with an outstanding and informative website. A Must See for Anyone Falsely Accused.
211 N. Fourth Durant, Oklahoma 74702 (580) 924-1151 Mr. Rainbolt practices in Durant, Oklahoma, but travels outside his area, defending clients, falsely accused of child sexual abuse. Without question, Ken is one of the finest attorneys I have ever worked with. He is caring, well prepared, excellent in dealing with children and, nothing short of perfection in case preparation and presentation. Highly recommended.
55 Public Sq # 2200 Cleveland, Ohio 44113 (216) 696-2348 John is one of those rare, caring criminal attorneys who excells at defending clients falsely accused of child sexual abuse. He provided an extraordinary defense for a client in Cleveland who was facing 14 indictments, 2 of them for rape. The client was acquitted by jury on all charges. I cannot recommend him highly enough to anyone falsely accused in Ohio and it was an honor to have assisted him through trial.
Stradley, Chernoff and Alford, L.L.P Republic Building 1018 Preston, 2nd Floor Houston, TX 77002 (713) 222-9141 Amazingly, Bill worked unceasingly with local prosecutors, proving to them and to their satisfaction, that what appeared to be a very serious child sexual molestation charge, was in fact nothing more than a false allegation. All charges against my client were dismissed by the State, one month prior to trial. I also commend the local prosecutor who was actually looking for the truth and not "It happened just because the child said it did." Bill Stradley is more than capable of handling sexual abuse allegation cases and I highly recommend him to anyone in the Houston, Texas area.
286 Farmington Avenue Hartford, CT 06105 (860) 247-0030 I had the honor of working with Kevin over a three year period and then through a very serious, month and a half long criminal trial in Connecticut in which my client had been charged with 9 felony counts based on sexual abuse allegations from 3 young female accusers. Kevin was actually my clients second attorney. His first attorney, a well known and respected criminal lawyer, all but demanded that my client accept a plea because it would be impossible to win against such odds. My client discharged his initial attorney, interviewed a number of lawyers, then retained Kevin. Amazingly, this was only Kevin's second criminal trial since he began his practice. During trial, Kevin methodically picked apart the State's case, exposing professional misconduct and lie after lie. He did a better job at cross examining the three child accusers than any attorney I have seen in the past 18 years, since I began specializing in these cases, and he did so without putting either the children or the jury under any stress. The final result was, the jury found my client not guilty of 8 felony counts, giving no credibility whatsoever to any of the sexual abuse allegations, but they did find him guilty of one count of Risk of Injury to a Child. Kevin went to work immediately to have that verdict set aside. I would highly recommend Kevin to anyone who has been falsely accused of child sexual abuse, in any state. Again, it was an honor and a pleasure to have assisted Kevin. He is truly the exception and not the rule when it comes to a caring attorney with a passion and desire to defend his client properly, regardless of the so-called odds.
7711 Bonhomme Avenue Suite 850 Clayton, MO 63105 (314) 862-5110 One of the most brilliant, caring and methodical trial lawyers I have ever met or had the pleasure to have worked with. Highly recommended to anyone facing false allegations of child sexual abuse criminal charges in the St. Louis, Missouri area. As a former prosecutor and now a criminal defense attorney, Chris' expertise is nothing short of perfection. It was a pleasure to have assisted Chris throughout trial.
1802 Houston Street Laredo, Texas 78040 (956) 727-3828 In a miracle of miracles, David's client was facing 18 separate counts of molesting his girlfriend's daughter, a girl under the age of 10-years old, in 2005. Where most attorneys would be insisting on a plea against such odds, David went to work and the result was, on Friday, May 25, 2007, a jury in Laredo, Texas acquitted his client on all sex crimes. As with the other few attorneys listed here, David is one of those very unique, caring and hard working individuals who believes in his client and backs that belief up with compassion, hard work and reasons to defend rather than excuses as to what would not work. I cannot recommend Mr. Almaraz highly enough.
1114 McChesney Avenue P.O.Box 160690 Nashville, Tennessee 37216 (615) 259-9867 Or 701 Brickell Avenue Suite 1550 S. Miami Florida, 33131 Phone: (305) 728-5255 The Law Office of Brent Horst provides aggressive, experienced criminal defense for clients accused of committing a crime in Tennessee and Florida. There is a national obsession with child sex abuse. Sensational and tragic stories about convicted sex offenders who have re-offended often in violent ways are seen in the media regularly. Those sensational media stories and the fact that the general public seems inclined to automatically believe the allegation of a child results in a situation where anyone accused of a sexual offense against a child is for all practical purposes presumed guilty, will face years and often life in prison if convicted, and once out of prison the person is forced to register as a sex offender and is publicly humiliated and hounded. Brent Horst knows how to defend child sex abuse cases. As a former prosecutor who specialized in the prosecution of these types of cases he knows how the police, prosecutors, and social workers investigate and present these cases in court. He knows the special problems that exist in these cases and how to address those problems to present the best defense.
Gene Abel, M.D. Psychiatrist who has devoted much of his life and career to identifying and treating sexual abuse issues and one of our most valuable assets in defending the falsely accused. One of the most brilliant men I have ever had the pleasure to meet or work with during the past 7 years.
Dr. Gardner was an internationally renown expert in false allegations of child abuse and the psychiatrist who coined the phrase, "Parental Alienation Syndrome." Although recently deceased, Dr. Gardner's work lives on.
Located in Galveston, Texas, Reena Sommer, Ph.D., is a divorce and custody consultant with a strong background in parental alienation and other issues stemming from high conflict divorce and custody disputes. Her expertise in parental alienation is invaluable not only to her clients going through custody disputes, but to their attorneys as well.
Parental Alienation issues frequently surface in false allegation cases where one parent uses their child and an allegation of sexual abuse to gain the upper hand in a heated custody dispute. Help Stop PAS, a non-profit organization, has a great deal of information, material and links to experts who can assist individuals and attorneys that are dealing with this issue. An outstanding source of information.
Convictions for those falsely accused in a "Shaken Baby" case run high, simply because most attorneys lack the knowledge to defend their client properly against an incorrect medical diagnosis. Education is the key and this site provides invaluable data for the falsely accused.
Ralph Underwager, Ph.D., Deceased Internationally renown expert in false allegations of child abuse. Dr. Underwager was one of the main pioneers in dealing with and identifying false allegations of child sexual abuse. Although deceased, his work and research live on.
Elizabeth F. Loftus, Ph.D. Professor of psychology at the University of California, Irvine and considered to be one of the top memory experts in the country.
Fred Peterson, Ph.D. Dr. Peterson is one of the few "sex issue" specialists in Ohio, practicing out of the Dayton area. By far, one of the best and most caring psychologists I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with. Very highly recommended to anyone in the Ohio area.
H. D. Kirkpatrick, Ph.D. - Custody Evaluator Dr. Kirkpatrick is, by far, one of the best, most qualified and completely unbiased custody evaluators in the country. His evaluations are lengthy, in-depth and nothing short of perfection. Highly recommended to anyone in the North Carolina area. Experienced in sexual abuse allegations, real and false and in parental alienation issues.
